In India, sweets are more than just desserts-they're a way of life, woven into every celebration and milestone. Whether it's a new job, a raise, an acceptance letter, a graduation, an engagement, a wedding, or a newborn, every joyful moment begins with something sweet. "Mooh meetha karo!"-a phrase we say to share happiness through sweets. They symbolize new beginnings, success, love, and all the good things in life.

At AMMI'S, our love for sweets comes from two special women- our Ammi here (my Mom) and our "India wali" Ammi (my husband's mom)-both of whom have an undeniable sweet tooth. They happily enjoy dessert in place of a meal and always love trying something new. Saturdays were our special day for experimenting with new treats, a tradition that not only strengthened our bond but also deepened our love for sweets.

Spending years in the kitchen alongside them, indulging in and creating new desserts, is how my husband and I developed our own love for sweets. Sweets paired with snacks, and chai have been the heart of so many cherished moments we spent together. They turn our simple gatherings into lasting memories, where the coziness of a cup of chai, combined with sweet treats and savory snacks, makes everything feel relaxed and effortless.

AMMI'S is a tribute to both our moms-a celebration of their love for desserts and the joy & blessings they bring to our lives.

While desserts take center stage at AMMI'S, we also offer a few carefully selected savory favorites from our restaurant, Cilantro Indian Café-Samosa Chaat, Chicken Samosa Chaat, and Lentil Soup. We've also included Chicken Samosa and Steak Samosa, a snack close to our hearts and a staple in our home.
